Centaurs, according to Greek mythology, were said to be the offspring of Ixion, son of Ares, and a cloud. These strange creatures had the head arms and chest of a man but the legs and lower half of a horse. In later myths and stories they sometimes had horns, wings or both. Dogs and Wedding Dresses, What a Match!

Tina and JP brought their dogs as well. How fun was this shoot I have to say these two were very well behaved and quite the doggie models!

Because this was an early morning shoot, out of town, I brought my girls and they picked Tina a buttercup bouquet. I actually think it is very pretty.

Trash the Dress Meets Equestrian Style!

I know not everyone is into the whole Trash the Dress Scene, but you have to be able to appreciate those who choose to have some fun after the wedding day. This was not actually Tina’s wedding dress, she had bought it and decided to get another so, this lovely gown was sitting just waiting to be used. I have to say as far as trashing the dress goes, this dress was trashed. Within minutes it was soiled and the horse actually stepped on it and ripped it. With water trash the dress sessions the dresses actually sometimes came out cleaner then before they trashed it.

About the couple, Tina and JP were married 2 years ago in April, So what a fun anniversary session to do I knew they were a fun couple when they showed up for their engagement session with a motorcycle! They had a church ceremony in Cambridge, MD and their reception was at The Oaks in Royal Oak, MD. They had the most amazing band and fun flowers by The City Florist

This session was such fun! We had a few obstacles to overcome since neither of the horses had ever seen a big white flouncy wedding dress. After some time, they did adjust There were so many amazing shots and some outtakes too, so stay tuned, this will be a three part series

Keri and Mike Take the Plunge!

I am a bit behind on my blogging of weddings but am trying to get caught up. Keri and Mike were such a fun couple. It was a joy to photograph their wedding day. The day started out a bit stressful because it rained, but the Hyatt is awesome about accommodating and while their wedding was supposed to be on lawn, It was equally as beautiful in the Regatta Pavillion. The sun eventually came out and Keri and Mike celebrated their wedding by taking the plunge in the pool. So fun. I too got wet, but it was totally worth it

Happy Anniversary Todd and Ashley!!!!

This was a very special wedding to photograph. I have know Todd since he was a kid and Ashley since she was in high school. These two were high school sweethearts, broke up and reconnected after college. They truly are like family. Not only was it a special blessing to be a part of their wedding, but all 4 of our children were in the wedding and my husband married them. It made for a very busy day for a mom and photographer.

Todd and Ashley, you know how special you are to our family! We love you very much and are so happy for you! Congratulations on the 1st year of many!

We had such a great time during this engagement session. Beautiful couple in a beautiful town! I love shooting in St Michaels. The town is full of charm and history.

A Last Look at The Snow- Come on Spring!

I love the snow, but I must say, I am ready for Spring to be here. Just having a small taste of it has given me Spring fever. I figured I should probably post these before it gets warm. Today seemed like a good time. These are from Blizzard I and II of 2010. You will notice Hannah is not in these. She was recovering from her surgery.

This was the sweetest couple. Not long after they hired me, Christine found out her mom had pancreatic cancer. The road was rough but her Mom was able to enjoy her daughter’s wedding. She fought a good fight but passed away in September. She was one of the most encouraging and inspirational women I have ever met. You can read more about her on her Blog

Remember them?

I can not tell you what a priveledge it was to be able to witness this wedding! This day made my job a joy and a pleasure. There were so many elements of this wedding that I loved. Mostly it was the people you love and those who love you. Your emotion was a testimony of who you both are. You are fun and your friends were certainly able to enjoy this day with you. Thank you for letting me be a part!!!!! I truly had a hard time editing this wedding and choosing which photos to show on the BLOG.

By the way, this band was incredible. Do you recognize on of the singers? Travis Tucker was in American Idol 2004. The Band is MILLENIUM and they are worth hiring!

Julie, I will show off your cake later, but amazing job as usual and Jim, your flowers were beautiful. I am so glad I finally got a chance to work with you! Heather and those at the Oaks, it is always fun!

Kate and Bo's Rainy Day Adventure

Who says rainy days are no fun? I had such fun with Kate and Bo on their engagement session. We have had to reshedule like 3 times I thing and this last time it decided to rain again, but we made the most of it and I thing got some fun and creative stuff.

Bo, look at you , see being photographed is not a horrible thing Such a fun day. More to come soon. I am so looking forward to your wedding in June

This swan has been in St Michaels a long time. It always makes me sad because it has a wounded wing and lost it’s mate when it was young For those who do not know, swans mate for life So it is sad for this fellow, but he is well loved in St Michaels!
