It has been a while since I have done a Friday Funny. The recent Trash the dress, opened up the opportunity, I could not turn down. I did have an excellent time on this shoot. Let’s face it… Trash the Dress shoots are just a lot of fun. Centaurs, according to Greek mythology, were said to be the offspring of Ixion, son of Ares, and a cloud. These strange creatures had the head arms and chest of a man but the legs and lower half of a horse. In later myths and stories they sometimes had horns, wings or both. Back to Greek mythology, these Man-Horse beasts lived in Thessaly, fed on meat and were given to riotous revelries. They came to symbolize the dark, unruly forces of nature. They were usually depicted as drunken followers of Dionysus, except for Cheiron who was the tutor to several heroes..

Wedding Trivia- Bouquets and June Weddings

This morning I went to the Amish Market in town to get our weekly supply lunch meat and free range chicken eggs and in their weekly flyer was some interesting bit of trivia, I though I would share with you!

Back in the 1500’s most people got married in June, because they took their ‘YEARLY’ bath in May. They still smelled pretty good by June. However, since they were starting to smell, brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today, of carrying a bouquet when getting married :p

I thought this was the funniest thing. I am unsure of the validity, but still it is very humorous. So glad for indoor plumbing and brides that now bath !

Friday Funnies- Dog Pees on Dress

While not funny at the time, it is funny now. Yes, it is true; the same girl who trashed her dress just weeks after her wedding had her dress trashed by her pooch just ours before here wedding.

And there it is on the scene, after the altercation. Thankfully Mother of the Bride knew what she was doing and saved the day. So wore her dress and while it may not have smelled the best, it looked beautiful. I will post more of So and Jeff’s photos later.

Friday Funnies- Wedding Crashers 3

This is a oldie but a goodie. On a regular basis, I think of all the great people I have gotten to meet along my road as a photographer. Kevin and Elizabeth are no exception. They were married May 6th, 2006. Their reception was at The Belvedere. It was a great day. We had a few minutes to do some group shots in front of the Hotel and this passerby, besides to sit down and join the festivities. What is so funny is the expressions of all the people and how different they are. LOL!

Friday Funnies: Guest steals photographer's lightstick….

This is not the first time nor will it probably be the last. Guests seem to have a facination with the light stick my assistant is responsible for. It is sometimes hard to get it back but we managed to quickly this time.

Another funny thing about the Lightstick is people think it is a camera and will turn to it and smile. Works for me to get those non camera aware shots
