This years gala is going to be amazing. The theme will be the Magic Carpet Ride. This is what CASA has to say about the night!
“You can take an enchanting Magic Carpet Ride to Morocco without leaving the country! On April 17, 2010, you and your friends can enjoy the vibrant sights, fragrances, and music of the Moroccan marketplace and relax under gorgeously decorated silk tents, all the while being entertained by fortune tellers, belly dancers, and henna tattoo artists. Chaired by Board member Christina Hoff and CASA-friend extraordinaire Dave Tuthill, A Magic Carpet Ride will feature gourmet cuisine and fine wines. Thanks to the artistic talents and generosity of Jamie Merida and Chuck Callahan, the Armory in downtown Easton will be transformed into a starry Moroccan evening for CASA of Talbot County’s annual benefit to raise needed funds to support their work with children who are under the court’s protection due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
Back again due to popular demand is the Wall of Wine, chaired by wine enthusiast Bill Corace and CASA Board member Bruce Summer. Extraordinary wine selections, donated by generous friends of CASA, will range in value from $21 to more than several hundred dollars per bottle. Donors will receive a wine bottle valued at more than their donation, and most wine bottles will be accompanied by descriptions and ratings from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator Magazine.
CASA Board members Mary Griffin and Christina Hoff have planned a spectacular silent auction that promises to have something for everyone. This year’s “Experience Auction” will focus on gourmet food and travel.
Local heroes are helping to underwrite the expenses of the evening by becoming sponsors of A Magic Carpet Ride. CASA’s Executive Director, Robin Davenport, emphasizes that the event sponsors help to raise funds for CASA’s efforts to pair a Court Appointed Special Advocate with every child under the court’s protection due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
Call CASA at 410-822-2866 to make reservations for A Magic Carpet Ride, donate to the Wall of Wine or the auction, or to receive a sponsorship packet. VISA and MasterCard are accepted.”
If you have children Alladin the Camel will be on the lawn at 4:30, so come by and visit. In His Grace will be donating a family photo session to the auction, so if you are going, bid high to support this worthy cause!
